1. 개요
소닉 어드벤처 2의 히어로 스토리의 첫 번째 스테이지인 시티 이스케이프에 삽입된 BGM.2. 상세
부른 사람은 테드 폴리(Ted Poley)와 토니 하넬(Tony Harnell)로, 이 두 사람은 훗날 소닉 히어로즈의 팀 소닉 테마곡인 'We Can'과, 소닉 라이벌즈 2의 메인 테마곡인 Race to Win 등을 부르기도 하였다. 작곡한 사람은 소닉 어드벤처 2와 소닉 제너레이션즈의 사운드 디렉터인 세노우에 준이며, 본인 왈 소닉 어드벤처 2의 보컬 트랙 중에서는 이 노래를 가장 좋아한다고 한다.소닉 어드벤처 2를 해 봤다면 Live & Learn과 함께 꼭 회자되는 곡 중 하나이며, 곡의 제목에 어울리게 도시 내에서 GUN의 추격을 받고 있으면서도 자유롭게 활동하려 드는 소닉의 마음 상태를 잘 표현한 곡이라 할 수 있다.
Live & Learn과 마찬가지로, TJ미디어에서 이 곡을 부를 수 있다. 번호는 21597.
훗날 소닉 제너레이션즈에 시티 이스케이프가 재등장함에 따라 리믹스도 이루어졌다. 참고로 소젠 시티 이스케이프 ACT 1을 제외하면, 게임플레이 중에 GUN 트럭이 나타나는 순간 BGM이 'The Mad Convoy Race'로 바뀐다.
참고로 가사 중에 ' Live & Learn'이라는 문구가 포함되어있다.
3. 리믹스
3.1. Escape from the City - Cash Cash RMX
소닉 제너레이션즈, 시티 이스케이프 ACT 1의 BGM. 제목에서 알 수 있듯 원곡과 달리 Cash Cash가 불렀는데, 특이하게도 메가드라이브의 사운드 폰트가 쓰였다. 또한 2절의 몇 소절을 들어보면, 멜로디가 엔드리스 마인의 BGM과 부분적으로 겹친다.[1] 팬들 사이에서는 원곡초월이라고 칭송받고 있으며, 배경음 자체는 고전 스타일로 표방하고 있지만 칩튠 장르가 별도로 정착하고 있는 현재 오히려 ACT 2 BGM보다 현대적이라는 평가를 받고 있다. 이후 소닉 시리즈와 관련된 행사에서 원곡보다 많이 사용되고 있다. 이 곡의 인트로 부분과 2절이 끝나고 나오는 후주 부분은 tvN의 예능 방송 현장 토크쇼 TAXI의 오프닝 삽입곡으로 쓰였다.

11월 7일에 Cash Cash가 리믹스한 버전으로 City Escape: Act1란 곡 제목을 달고 수록되었다. 더불어 mai-Star가 처음으로 만든 채보이기도 하다.
MASTER 난이도 AP 영상
MASTER 채보는 원래 12렙이었으나 12렙치고 상당한 불렙으로 평가받아서 12+로 상승했다. 하지만 상향되고 나서도 12+치고 상당한 사기난이도를 보여주고 있다.
홀드를 이용한 손꼬기 패턴, 후반부에 2번 등장하는 16비트 탭 긁기에 브레이크가 섞인 패턴[2], 엇박 16비트 연타 패턴에서 잔그렛이 나기가 쉬우며, 익숙해졌다 해도 BPM이 너무 느려서 잔그렛이 나기가 상당히 쉽다. 덕분에 12+로 상향되었음에도 불구하고 악명높은 불렙곡으로 평가받고 있다.
Re:MASTER 난이도 채보 영상
2016년 8월 16일, maimai PiNK PLUS에서 리마스터 패턴이 추가되었다.
전반적으로 MASTER 보면보다 쉽다고 평가받는다. 곡의 멜로디를 충실하게 구현한 패턴으로 탭 + 슬라이드 패턴과, 슬라이드 한붓 그리기가 중점이 되는 채보이다. 주의해야 할 구간은 슬라이드 + 24비트 탭 긁기 패턴, 후반 하이라이트 진입전에 나오는 4연타 정도.
3.2. Escape from the City - Blue Blur RMX
소닉 제너레이션즈의 시티 이스케이프 ACT 2의 BGM. 원곡에 기타 솔로와 브리지를 추가한 확장판이며, Cash Cash RMX와 달리 이 버전은 원곡을 불렀던 Ted Poley가 보컬을 맡았다. 2절이 끝나고 나오는 간주 부분은 소닉 어드벤처 2의 소닉 테마인 'It Doesn't Matter'의 도입부 멜로디와 겹친다.

롤러코스터를 타는 장면에서 원곡의 어레인지가 재생되었다. 크게 바뀐 것은 아니지만 도입부가 약간 달라지고, 1절 이후의 부분이 몽땅 잘려 곡의 길이가 줄어들었다. 그 외에는 2023년 2월 27일에 안싸우면 다행이야에서 수록되었다.
