- 2024년 3월 19일, Jimmy Kimmel Live! 에피소드 중 닥터 드레가 "올해 에미넴이 새 앨범을 발매할 것"이라고 깜짝 발표했다.

2024년 4월 26일, 본인의 유튜브 채널에 앨범의 홍보 영상을 올렸다.[1]
- 그런데 4년만의 정규 앨범이라는 점, 발매 전부터 홍보를 활발히 한다는 점 등, 발매 전의 행보가 커리어 최악의 앨범으로 평가받는 9집과 심하게 닮아있어 팬들의 걱정이 커지는 중이다.

엘범 제목을 보면 알겠지만, 직역하면 슬림 셰이디[2]의 죽음이다. 이에 대해 많은 갑론을박이 오고 가고 있는데, 일단 대부분의 의견은 더 이상 에미넴이 슬림 셰이디라는 캐릭터를 쓰지 않을 것이라는 주장에 힘이 실리고 있다.
- 엘범 제목 뒤에 괄호를 친 부제 (COUP DE GRÂCE)는 최후의 일격 정도로 해석 될 수 있다.
