브루스 스프링스틴의 3번째 앨범인 Born to Run의 3번째 트랙.2. 상세
브루스 스프링스틴이 계속 Born To Run 작업을 하면서 모방하고 싶어한 필 스펙터가 창제한 '소리의 벽' 기법이 잘 드러나는 곡이다.가사의 내용은 블루칼라인 화자가 하루종일 계속되는 고된 노동을 버티고 어느 여자에 대한 사랑과 함께 밤에 열릴 드래그 레이싱을 위해 달려나가는 모습을 주로 묘사하고 있다. Born To Run의 곡들 중에서 블루칼라 노동자의 삶을 사실적으로 전달해주는 곡으로 꼽힌다. 이는 Born to Run 다음의 브루스 스프링스틴의 다음 앨범인 Darkness on the Edge of Town에 더욱 발전한채 다뤄진다.
