1. 개요

1979년 발매된 록시 뮤직의 정규 6집 앨범.

2. 특징

록시 뮤직의 4년만에 복귀작이다. 글램 록과 아트 록의 표본이였다고 할 수 있었던 1975년 5집 Siren과 비교해서 음악적으로 큰 차이를 보이는데, 이는 1970년대 초반부터 등장하기 시작한 디스코와 1970년대 후반부터 등장한 뉴웨이브가 록시 뮤직과 1970년대 록 음악가들에게 자리를 위협하였기 때문에 록시 뮤직에게는 새로운 음악을 시도하여야 한다는 압박이 있었다. 또한 1976년 Siren 투어 이후 록시 뮤직은 잠시 해체됬었고, 에디 좁슨은 밴드를 영구적으로 탈퇴했기 때문에[1] 재결합 후 페리, 맥케이, 만자네라, 톰슨 넷을 중심으로 세션 음악가들과 함께 녹음을 진행하였다.

본 앨범의 제목이자 오프닝 트랙인 Manifesto 의 포스트 펑크와 뉴 웨이브 중간의 사운드, 그리고 혁명을 암시하는 가사를 보아 이번 앨범에서는 새로운 음악을 시도하겠다는 의지로 보여지며 펑크 록 트랙인 Trash 나 디스코 스타일인 Angel Eyes[2], 팝 발라드인 Dance Away 등 글램과 아트 스타일을 벗어나 새로운 장르를 시도하였다. 동시대 뮤지션인 데이비드 보위의 Lodger 처럼 여러모로 과도기적이고 실험적인 앨범이다.
