2집의 리드 싱글로 처음 이 앨범의 컨셉을 보고 맘에 들어하지 않았던 음반사 사장이 그럼 히트할 곡을 써오라고 하자 1992년 크리스마스 날 데이먼이 시골 부모님 집에 내려가 피아노를 두들기며 쓴 곡이다.

가사에 앨범명인 Modern Life Is Rubbish가 나온다.또한 런던 특히 북 런던 캠던의 프림로즈 힐이 나오기도 하는데[1] 이를 기념하듯 싱글에 Visit To Primrose Hill 버전을 실었으며 가사 중 수잔이 프림로즈 힐에 가자면서 하는 말인 And the view's so nice를 프림로즈 힐에 직접 쓰기도 했다. # 현재는 2012 런던 올림픽을 준비하며 미관상 시 의회에서 지워버린 상태. 근데 지운게 더 흉하다. 데이브가 이것을 비판하기도 했다. #

확장 버전은 컴필레이션 앨범에 수록되어있다.

앨범의 커버는 제2차 세계대전 당시 전투기인데 영국적인 느낌을 내기 위해 정했다고 한다.
