BLACKSWAN - The First EP Album [Roll Up]

2023년 싱글 앨범 'That Karma'로 유니크한 존재감을 보여줬던 글로벌 걸그룹 BLACKSWAN(블랙스완)이 2024년 7월 31일 오후 6시 첫 번째 EP 앨범 'Roll Up'으로 돌아온다.

2023년 5월 19일 'That Karma' 앨범 발매 후 독보적인 글로벌 걸그룹의 자리를 차지했던 블랙스완 BLACKSWAN(블랙스완)은 CNN, BBC, Rolling Stones, Billboard 등 전 세계 주요 미디어로부터 K-pop Scene에서의 그들의 활약을 집중 조명 받았으며,
글로벌 걸그룹답게 이미 벨기에, 인도, 미국, 두바이 등 다양한 대륙의 다양한 국가의 수많은 관중들 앞에서 공연한 경험을 가지고 있다. 특히 2023년 글로벌 메가 이벤트인 2023 Odisha Hockey World Cup 오프닝 세레모니에 케이팝 아티스트로서는 최초로 초청되어 약 60,000명의 관객 앞에서 축하 공연을 하였고, 인도 발리우드의 성지인 Mumbai, 미국 엔터테인먼트 사업의 중심인 Los Angeles 등에서 프로모션을 하는 등 범상치 않은 이력을 자랑한다. 글로벌 시장의 존재감만큼이나 국내 시장에서도 유수의 국내 매체 인터뷰와 다양한 예능에 출연하였으며, 외국인으로서 최초로 '전쟁기념사업회' 굿윌엠버서더'에 임명되어 활동하고 있는 매우 '특별한' 이력을 자랑하고 있다.
지난 앨범을 통해 그들이 추구하는 방향성과 한국인이 포함 되어있지 않은 외국인으로만 이루어진 K-POP 그룹에 대한 수많은 물음표에 대한 화두를 최초로 던졌던 그들이 이번 앨범을 통해 조금 더 나아가 그 물음표를 느낌표로 바꿔보려 한다.

[Roll Up]의 첫 번째 트랙 ‘C'est Jamais Vue’

'C’est jamais vue'는 블랙스완의 감각적인 보컬과 Blurred Line Publishing이 만나 완성된 곡이다. 딥 하우스 장르를 기반으로 한 이 곡은 펑키한 리듬과 트렌디하면서도 중독성 있는 멜로디가 돋보이며, 세련된 신디사이저 사운드와 그루브한 베이스라인이 어우러져 K팝 특유의 에너지와 스타일을 함께 담아내고 있다. 특히, 블랙스완의 리더 파투가 작사에 참여하여 그녀의 감각적인 가사가 곡의 퀄리티를 한층 업그레이드시켜준다. 이 곡은 혁신적인 프로듀싱 팀인 'Blurred Line Publishing'의 곡으로 혁신적인 송 라이팅과 뮤직 프로덕션을 바탕으로 아티스트 브랜딩을 성공적으로 결합하여, 세대를 초월하는 히트곡을 탄생시키는 길을 걸어가고 있다. [Roll Up]의 타이틀곡이자 두 번째 트랙 ‘Roll Up’

'Roll Up'은 블랙스완 멤버들의 자신 있는 모습을 표현한 댄스 곡이다. 블랙스완 멤버들이 보여주는 강력한 퍼포먼스를 통해 공격적인 비트 위에서 그들의 걸크러쉬함과 위엄 있는 모습을 보여주며, 심플하지만 기억하기 쉬운 훅에 쉽게 빠질 수 있는 중독성 있는 곡이다. 이 곡의 멜로디와 퍼포먼스를 통해 멤버들은 그들의 강렬한 모습을 보여준다. 이번 앨범의 타이틀곡인 'Roll Up'은 BTS, BLACK PINK 등 국내외 탑 아티스트들과 협업했던 프로듀서 Alina Smith (LYRE), Lauren Dyson, Rob Grimaldi, A Wright, Alex Schwoebel, Jackson Hirsh, Matty Michna 가 의기투합하여 만든 곡으로, 작사에는 대한민국 대표 뮤직그룹 153/Joombas출신 bay(153/Joombas), 전세희(153/Joombas), 윤(153/Joombas)이 참여하였다. 특히 프로듀서 Rob Grimaldi는 BTS의 'Butter'를 프로듀싱한 그래미상 후보/멀티 플레티넘 프로듀서이다. 또한 블랙스완의 강렬한 퍼포먼스를 선보이기 위해 안무는 KANY가 이 곡의 안무에 참여하였다. KANY는 Beyonce와 샤이니 등 월드 클레스 아티스트들과 함께 작업했던 세계적인 안무가로 블랙스완만이 표현할 수 있는 강력한 퍼포먼스와 유니크한 매력을 그녀의 독보적인 안무를 통해 더욱 돋보이게 해준다.

[Roll Up]의 세 번째 트랙 'Double Down'

'Double Down'은 통통 튀는 비트와 트렌디한 신스가 이끄는 중독성 있는 곡으로 여름에 어울리는 청량감 있는 곡이다. 이번 앨범의 타이틀곡 'Roll Up'과는 180도 다른 블랙스완의 매력을 가감 없이 보여주는 이지 리스닝 곡으로 청중들이 따라 부르기 쉽게 구성되어 있으며, 2024년 6월 두바이 워터 밤 무대에서 최초로 선공개 되었다. 이 곡의 작사 작곡은 지난 앨범 'Karma' 프로듀싱에 참여했던 Alina Smith (LYRE), Annalise Morelli (LYRE), Shark, A Wright, JEDI가 의기투합하였고 작사는 Alina Smith (LYRE), Annalise Morelli (LYRE), 편곡은 Shark, A Wright, JEDI가 참여하여 완성도를 높였다.

[Roll Up]의 마지막 트랙 'La Boum'

'La Boum'은 신스팝과 뉴웨이브 장르의 특성을 현대적으로 재해석하여, 레트로한 분위기와 현대적인 감각이 조화를 이루는 곡이다.

Global girl group BLACKSWAN who showed a unique presence with their 2023 single album 'That Karma,' is about to return with their first EP album 'Roll Up' at 6pm KST on July 31, 2024.

After the release of the album 'That Karma' on May 19, 2023, BLACKSWAN was spotlighted on their performances in K-pop Scene by major media around the world, including CNN, BBC, Rolling Stones, and Billboard etc. As a global girl group, they have already performed in front of numerous audiences from various countries such as Belgium, India, the United States, and UAE etc. In particular, BLACKSWAN is the first K-pop idol group to be invited to the 2023 Odisha Hockey World Cup opening ceremony, a global mega event happened in 2023, to perform in front of an audience of about 60,000 people, and to boast an extraordinary history by promoting in Mumbai, the center of the Indian entertainment industry known as 'Bollywood', and Los Angeles, the center of the U.S. entertainment industry. As much as they have a global market presence, They have appeared in interviews with leading domestic media and various variety shows in the domestic market, and boasts a very 'special' history of being appointed to Goodwill Ambassador, 'the War Memorial Association of Korea' for the first time as a foreign Idol. Through the last album, they first raised the topic of the direction they pursue and numerous question marks about the K-pop group made up of only foreigners who do not include Koreans, and they want to go a little further and turn the question mark into an exclamation mark through this album.

'C'est jamais vue' is a song completed by BLACKSWAN's sensuous vocals and Blurred Line Publishing. Based on the deep house genre, the song features funky rhythms and trendy yet addictive melodies, and the combination of sophisticated synthesizer sound and groovy bass line brings K-pop's unique energy and style together. In particular, BLACKSWAN's leader & rapper Fatou participates in the lyrics to further upgrade the quality of the song. The song is composed by the innovative production team 'Blurred Line Publishing,' which successfully combines artist branding based on innovative song writing and music production to create a hit song that transcends generations. LEANON, NODEN, and CHILLINCAT are constantly striving to expand the boundaries of music by continuing new musical attempts each time through their own unique artistic style.

'Roll Up' is a dance song that expresses the confidence of the BLACKSWAN members. BLACKSWAN members show their girl crush and dignity on aggressive beats through powerful performances, and it is an addictive song that can easily fall into a simple but catchy hook. Through the melody and performance of the song, the members show their powerful side. The title track of the album, 'Roll Up,' is composed by Alina Smith (LYRE), Lauren Dyson, Rob Grimaldi, A Wright, Alex Schwoebel, Jackson Hirsh, and Matty Michna, who collaborated with top artists all over the world, and the lyrics have been written by bay(153/Joombas), Jeon Se Hui(153/Joombas), Yoon(153/Joombas) of 153/Joombas, Korea's leading music group. In particular, producer Rob Grimaldi, who produced BTS' song 'Butter,' is a Grammy nominated/multi platinum producer. In addition, KANY participated on the choreography for the song to showcase BLACKSWAN's powerful performances. KANY, who is a world-class choreographer, worked with great artists such as Beyonce, Shinee etc. She choreographed a very unique and powerful performances for BLACKSWAN'S title track 'Roll Up'.

'Double Down' is an addictive song led by bouncy beats and trendy synths and is a refreshing song for summer. It is an easy listening song that shows BLACKSWAN's charm, which is TOTALLY different from the title track 'Roll Up,' and was first pre-performed at the Dubai Waterbomb stage in June 2024. The song was composed by Alina Smith (LYRE), Annalise Morelli (LYRE), Shark, A Wright, and JEDI, who worked together to produce an incredible track 'Karma', and the lyrics were written by Alina Smith (LYRE), Annalise Morelli (LYRE). 'La Boum' is a song that modernly reinterprets the characteristics of synth pop and new wave genres, harmonizing the retro atmosphere and modern sense.
