1. 개요
2021년 12월 16일 0시 15분경 여러 서버에서 장애가 발생한 사건이다.트위치, 디스코드, 넷플릭스, 리그 오브 레전드, 포켓몬 통신 서버, 에이펙스 레전드 등 아마존의 Amazon Web Services(이하 AWS)를 사용하는 여러 플렛폼에서 장애가 일어났다.

AWS Internet Connectivity (N. California)
[7:52 AM PST] We are investigating Internet connectivity issues to the US-WEST-1 Region.
[8:01 AM PST] We have identified the root cause of the Internet connectivity to the US-WEST-1 Region and have taken steps to restore connectivity. We have seen some improvement to Internet connectivity in the last few minutes but continue to work towards full recovery.

AWS는 일주일 전인 12월 7일(현지시간)에도 동부서버 장애로 인하여 약 30분간 통신장애를 일으킨 적이 있다. # 이번은 서부서버인 US-WEST-1과 US-WEST-2의 장애로 보이며 이번은 복구가 빨랐다는 평이다. # 서버 과부하로 인한 장애라고 한다.
기존과 달리 동아시아와 연결된 서부에 위치한 서버에 문제가 생기면서 우리나라와 일본에 영향을 많이 준것으로 예상된다.
